There are fine peculiarities in a Trap shotgun that won't be found on hunting models. The Trap shotguns in the Browning line make busting clay birds much easier. Here are some reasons why, particularly with the Cynergy Trap. First, it has ventilated top and side ribs which allow easier swinging on targets. The Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones allow the shot to spread and economise as it travels down the barrel to the choke constriction. Lengthened forcing cones also prevent each pellet from becoming flattened or deformed. A deformed pellet will not fly straight and serious target shooters cannot afford any stray pellets.Back-boring a barrel increases bore diameter to its maximum specification, reducing friction between the shot cup and the barrel to propel the shot pellets to a higher velocity/ Back-boring also helps to reduce the recoil into your shoulder. Removable choke tubes are critical to any serious shooter. They can be flush or extended. Extended tubes allow the shot to focus, spread and center, prior to leaving the muzzle. Highly visible, light-gathering sights and beads along wide, super imposed ribs contribute to picking up the bird when split seconds count.
If you have ever watched a pro-archery competitor and noticed the equipment attached to his bow, it is the same with guns designed for shooting sporting clays, trap and skeet. Sometimes, the more personalised gear you have attached serves to help the concentration and confidence, and that can make all the difference.
